How to save your battery on Blackberry devices
I need to send another email!
If you ever have a battery low problem with your Blackberry, you must use it frequently. I very rarely have any problems with mine to be honest. I charge it every night and it’s unusual when it does go flat.
However, here’s a few tips to keep your battery life:
- Use the mains charger and cigar charger as the preferred charging method. (not a PC)
- Turn off unused connections when not in use, i.e. GPS, Wi-Fi®, Bluetooth® (Menu, Manage connections and switch off connections you don’t need)
- Use the supplied leather wallet as it will kill the display, lock the keyboard and put the phone into standby as soon as it is holstered.
- Turn off the 3g function on newer models and use single band useage.
- When using any applications, make sure you close them properly by choosing exit in the menu (or the escape key) and not just pressing the Red End button. Also, log out of apps like Facebook, twitter as these automatically update unless they are logged off.
- Use the Auto on/Off feature in the phone in the night, it will save you a huge amount of standby time overnight.
- Reduce the volume of all alerts including ringing tones, text messages etc… even the roller and key tones.
- Reduce the display brightness and the time out where possible.
- If you use your Blackberry to play music, Use headphones, turn off equaliser settings and also load your music through the Desktop Manager as it will optimise the music for playing.
And………….
If all else fails…………………..
If you battery is really low and you need it for emergency press and hold the power button to switch the unit off altogether or switchoff all the connections by going to : Menu,Manage connections and click switch all radios off.
